sending back my refund check

i recently receive my amend refund check. but i cant cash or deposit it because it names with me and my wife. bank wants us to endorsed the check together but my wife shes not leaving me here. so i mail the check back to irs with explanation and my wife authorization letter about changing the check names format or removing her name on the check. i just wondering how long it takes to send or reissue me a new check?
