not all brokerages have this feature.

you can see by going to the file tab

click on import

click on from financial institution

a window will open

type in the name of the FI. you can sometimes use part of the name such as Schwab for Charles Schwab, Scot for Scottrade, etc. if it does not show up then probably not

a word of warning, even if you can import, you and not TT are responsible for making sure what was imported is complete and correct. some info may not import.

Are you sure it's a 1099-DIV (income from dividends and distributions?) Do you have a copy of the 1099-DIV? A 1099-DIV is a simple document and very easy to enter in the TurboTax program. By the time you figure out how to import it you could have already entered it.

Or are other 1099's involved, such as a 1099-B? Since you said "brokerage," is there also a more-complicated 1099-B with multiple investment sales?

Without a login and password, you cannot import your 1099-DIV. If you received the copy of the 1099-DIV, you will have to manually input the information. Just as easy if you have just a handful of 1099-DIV forms.
