Secondary tax filers are also covered under IDnotify as part of MAX Benefits. To enroll the secondary tax filer with IDnotify, follow these steps:

Contact TurboTax https://ttlc.intuit.com/replies/3300041
When you enter your question, enter Enroll spouse in MAX Benefits
The specialist will then be able to provide you with the steps to enroll the secondary tax filer

Intuit/TurboTax - you have really disappointed me this year. Not only can I not speak to a person directly but the computer is completely incompetent. There are no real answers or directions to help assist with this nor do any of the automated emails help with it. Needless to say, I have wasted my money on your service and will be looking at other alternatives next year when I file.

Just wanted to update this thread. Spoke with both TurboTax and IDNotify today. This is NOT true. They do not support adding a secondary user/SSN to IDNotify. They only support the filer. They do support your spouse (if Married Filing Jointly) if there is an Identity Theft incident, but you are required to figure that on our own. "You would probably get some sort of letter" I was told. Dont think Im going to be purchasing this again next year.

PS - Poor customer service - The TurboTax representative I spoke with sent me on a wild goose chase with MAX Benefits, with the person I spoke with there only covers Audit Protection and has never heard of IDNotify. I paid close to 200 bucks to file my taxes to you guys this year. How awful.

What is Full Identity Restoration?

Just went through this myself today. Spouse is NOT covered with ID NOTIFY under MAX benefits. Got a complete runaround between Intuit and ID Notify (who is a third-party provider) and basically learned that my spouse is not able to access this service. It is very disappointing as that was not disclosed at the time of purchase and is completely misleading.

Actually, they do, however you need to contact a specific department that will provide the necessary PIN needed to create the secondary filers IDNOTIFY account. The problem is that no one seems to know, have, or be able to locate said contact information.

Hi, thank you for responding. I’m looking to add my spouse for identify theft benefits like I’m getting (we filed jointly) to MAX Benefits. I was told through chat to log into my Intuit account, look for Max benefits, and you can edit or add a spouse there. I can’t find this anywhere on my Intuit account.

To subscribe to MAX benefits in your TurboTax Online account, follow these steps:

Sign in to your TurboTax Online account.
Start or continue your tax return.
Now you can go the Review and File section now. You may add this now or add this when you are ready to pay the Turbo tax fee.
Select the MAX benefits package and follow the prompts to complete your purchase.

Here is what the screen looks like if you follow these steps. You can add Max at any time.

Thank you for the information but I guess I’m not making myself clear. I’ve already filed my taxes and I’ve already paid for Max benefits for 2025. I paid $49. At this point I need to add my spouse. I already have a login for IDnotify. I’m trying to get a login for my spouse.

If you filed jointly, your spouse is automatically covered for Max benefits.

IDnotify is an add-on to the Max benefits through a third-party provider (Experian).

Since this is not a TurboTax product, it is suggested that you Sign In through the link provided in the email you received from IDnotify and add your spouse, or call IDnotify directly at 1-888-486-9032.
