TurboTax isn't set up to process credit card payments for state returns as most states require you to make the payment using their systems and some have limited credit card payment options. You would select pay tax by check and then go to your state's website to pay your taxes by credit card using the amount due shown on your forms.

If you want to let me know what state you are in, I can provide you with a link to the credit card payment option for your state or you can probably easily find it using an internet search.

Then select the Credit Card option when making an electronic payment. (Please note: There is a fee associated with any payments made via a card.

For anyone else that finds this thread, I will not be able to answer anymore so please do a internet search for [your state] tax credit card payments (or something similar) and you should find the correct site right away.

Though a lot of states allow you to pay your taxes with direct debit, not all states offer this.

When you are about to pay for your state taxes, TurboTax will let you know what tax payment options are available to you for your particular state.

If you do not see the option to pay with your card, you can go to your State Department of Revenue's website to pay online.
