For a taxpayer to qualify for an affordability exemption, the lowest-priced 2016 coverage that was available to you (through either a or Marketplace or job-based plan), would've had to cost more than 8.13% of your household income.

You may visit this link to use the Marketplace tool and determine what the lowest bronze-level plan would've been for you: https://www.healthcare.gov/tax-tool/#/year

To determine what the lowest priced plan was through your employer, you will need to contact your employer's HR department

For the household's income, the IRS considers the household Modified Adjusted Gross Income (MAGI).

To determine what your 2016 household income, or household MAGI, was for 2016, you may reference your 1040 (after all income has been entered in to the program) by doing the following:

From within your return, click My Account at the
     top right

Then, select Tools

Once in the tool
center, click on View Tax Summary

Then, at the top in
the white bar you will see Back and Preview
     my 1040 -
     select Preview my 1040

Then,
you may find your total income listed depending on which 1040 version you file by (see attached screenshot "what form do I have" below for how to determine which form you are using at this point)

If you file Form 1040: If you file Form 1040, figure your
MAGI by adding the amounts reported on Form 1040, lines 8b
and 37.
Additionally: If you claimed the foreign earned income exclusion,
housing exclusion, or housing deduction, add the amounts from
Form 2555, lines 45 and 50, or Form 2555EZ, line 18. If your
dependent has a filing requirement, but you elect to report the
dependent's income on Form 8814, include the dependent's
MAGI in the household income by adding Form 8814, line 1b
and the smaller of Form 8814, line 4 or 5.

If you file Form 1040A: If you file Form 1040A, figure your
MAGI by adding the amounts on Form 1040A, lines 8b and 21.

If you file Form 1040EZ: If you file Form 1040EZ, figure
your MAGI by adding the amount on Form 1040EZ, line 4 and
any tax-exempt interest reported in the space to the left of line 2.

For more information, please see the IRS’s 2016 Instructions for Form

No, TurboTax does not calculate or automatically apply the Unaffordable exemption. It needs to be done manually, and the calculation is FAR more complicated than that (this link assumes no employer insurance was available).
https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/i8965.pdf#page=11
