Some taxpayers might get a credit for Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT) paid in a prior year. This credit is calculated on Form 8801: Credit of Prior Year Minimum Tax.

To enter the information for Form 8801 in TurboTax Online:

Click Tax Tools (lower left side of your screen).

Click Tools.

In the pop-up window, click Topic Search.

In I’m looking for: box, type 8801.

In the topic box, highlight 8801, prior year amount, then click GO.

Follow the screen prompts. Repeat for other forms needed
