It sure is sad that no one at turbo tax told their own support staff about this problem. I called and had a TT support person "help" me she had me delete my cookies and cache. Of course did not help. Then she said it was strange and I should just ignore it. TT should be ashamed of themselves.

I encountered this problem using Turbo Online today. You can't simply delete form 2210, it is automatically regenerated to your return before you complete filing, then in just loops you back to the error. I got my federal and state returns rejected for this. Very unhappy.

Doug, this happened to me too. 2 times. Then I figured out how to do it and eFiled successfully last evening both Federal and State. Then, BELIEVE IT OR NOT!!, I got an email today from "TurboTax Customer Solutions" advising that the "return cannot be electronically filed. You must print and file your return by mail." That's astonishingly wrong and irresponsible!! So I immediately posted a feedback explanation to the linked site (<a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/4612553-electronic-filing-rejection-code-f2210-003">https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/4612553-electronic-filing-rejection-code-f2210-003</a>) in the Yes/No feedback area (limited to 100 characters – can you believe it??). Of course, they have not displayed my feedback, and they have not corrected their erroneous advisory email. So, here's the answer: If Line A is checked, then click Explain under Line B and fill in the Additional Information Explanation Statement form with: "85% Waiver". Yes, it's invisible and redundant w/r to Form 2210, but it satisfied the Feds and got my electronic return accepted. And shame on TT for not fixing this and for not updating after I told them about the workaround!!!!

Well, now instead of correcting their erroneous advice, they incorporated their email mistake an hour ago into the above linked page, telling people they have to print and file via mail. This looks like it could impact large numbers of people who were under-withheld and who properly covered it via estimated tax payments. And TT is now telling them all that they cannot eFile, which is simply not true. And they are doing it on purpose because I've reported (the only way I could find) directly to that web page, as well as here. So they know! Incredible!!

Try this workaround for the online editions -
Click on Federal > Click on Other Tax Situations > Under Additional Tax Payments choose Underpayment Penalties - Answer the on-screen questions, except set the amount owed in 2017 to 0, leave the rest at the default settings that TT imported and Form 2210 will be left off your e-file. After you've answered the questions, you can confirm Form 2210 has been removed by going to Tax Tools > Tools > Delete a Form. It will then show you a giant list of all of the forms in your return. 2210 should not be in it.

My version is desktop. I’ve never used the online version. Maybe there is some other way to create an Additional Information Explanation Statement form in the online version? I’m guessing the Feds just want Line A explained, and TT’s auto-fill doesn’t work, but attaching an explanation to Form 2210 does work, regardless of how the Explanation is triggered (in my case, triggered via Line B). That’s my theory, anyway.
