Are there further steps after completing forms?

This is my first time using Turbotax. I thought after completing my turbotax forms that I just wait for the turbotax guys to send it and for the money to come in the mail. Is there anything else for me to do? Its been many weeks.

Are you asking about your 2016 return? Did you efile it?...

You can check your refund status at Where's My Refund. This is for your Federal Return.

OR when you log into your account does it say Ready to Mail?  That means you were suppose to print and mail it to the IRS yourself.

If you are efiling you had to complete the FILE tab all the way to the end and hit the submission buttons for both the feds & the state. The program will not submit the returns for you ... read the screens carefully for all the directions.

Hello and thank you for the detailed response. I thought I had filed it, but it says "Ready to mail". Is it possible for me to change how it's filed or is it too late? Hopefully I can adjust it to be efiled and save time, energy, and paper... Thank you so much

TurboTax does not file or mail your return for you. You have to e-file it yourself by going all the way to the end of the FILE section and clicking the big orange button that says "Transmit Return Now." Or you have to print it, sign it and mail it yourself. It is now too late to e-file a 2016 return. You will need to download the desktop software to complete and print your 2016 return, then mail it in.

When you mail your return, you need to attach documents that show tax withheld, such as your W-2's or 1099's. Use a mailing service that will track it --like UPS or certified mail-- so you will know the IRS received it.
