If I'm paying $54.00 for Deluxe Federal, why am I also being charged $39.00 for State? The previous year my total for both filings was only $29.99??

Hi there,

Thanks for being a loyal TurboTax customer. TurboTax Deluxe does not come with state prep included and so it sounds like you are being charged correctly for filing federal + state returns. It sounds like last year you may have had a simple (1040EZ or 1040A) tax situation, allowing you to file with our TurboTax Federal Free Edition product--and perhaps you may have completed and filed earlier in the year with promotional pricing.
