You can move (copy) all your returns like the PDF files and .tax2015, .tax2016 etc.  you will need the file ending in .tax2016 to transfer into next year 2017.

What I would do is just copy the whole Turbo Tax folder that is under your Documents.  That should be where the .tax files and pdf files are stored.  Copy that folder to a flash drive or best yet is to burn it to a CD or DVD and then you will have a backup of them.   Then on the new computer copy the folder (or files) from the flash drive to your Documents folder.

Next year you have to buy the Mac version of Turbo Tax .  If you buy the CD it has both Windows and Mac programs on it.  But a lot of Mac computers don't have a CD drive anymore so you need to buy the program download.

What version of Turbo Tax or Mac?

You can buy any Desktop version. They all have the same forms. You just get more help in the higher versions. You can only buy the download for prior years. You have to buy a separate program for each year. They only sell the last 3 years. You need a full Windows or Mac computer to install it on. Buy the download here

You have to print and mail prior year returns. When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS received the return. Don’t forget state.

You need the Mac download. Call in and ask for it.
