Why is my plus benefits fee $39.99 when I go to pay? It is supposed to be $29.99.

PLUS is 29.99, but if you choose to pay the TurboTax fees out of the Federal refund, there is an additional 39.99 service fee. So with that method it would be 29.99 + 39.99, plus any sales taxes. We can tell you how to remove that payment option and pay the 29.99 PLUS fee by a different method, using a credit card, debit card or a prepaid debit card you can buy in many stores for a few bucks..

First please report exactly what all you are being charged for. Here's how to tell:

Open your return (if not already opened), and in the left menu column, click on TAX TOOLS, then TOOLS.
In the Tools window, choose MY FEES.

What products and fees are displayed there?

Non-California filers:
