Hi this is my first time filing. I have no state return, just a federal return and was told I had to mail my return. I mailed my return 2 weeks ago. How can I ensure that they received it?

When you mail your tax return, wait about 4 weeks and then you can begin checking the IRS site:

https://www.irs.gov/refunds

To track your state refund:

https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1899433

On the IRS site you are also offered the use of an app called IRS2Go

For the future, if you are going to mail a tax return, it is a good idea to mail it using a service that will track it or provide you with a reaccept showing the IRS got it.

Bear in mind that it can take up to 4 weeks for a return that has been mailed to show up on IRS refund status check.
