      <description>&lt;P&gt;Condolences on the loss of your husband.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;B&gt;Yes&lt;/B&gt;, if you start a new return, &lt;U&gt;previous tax information will not carry over&lt;/U&gt;.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;You may try changing the information under &lt;B&gt;Personal Info&lt;/B&gt; instead.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;OL&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Delete your info as Spouse&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Replace the "taxpayer" info with your name, address, and SSN.&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Change your filing status to "widowed" or "single."&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;/OL&gt;&lt;P&gt;In general, this will preserve prior year entries and carry-over info. Realize, however, that anything entered for "taxpayer" in a prior year will now be assigned to you. This is rarely an issue.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
