      <description>I am not sure of your question, but, yes, the amount reported with a code of "W" in box 12 on your W-2 is the sum of the &lt;B&gt;employer's contributions to &lt;/B&gt;your HSA plus &lt;B&gt;your contributions to&lt;/B&gt; your HSA via a salary reduction/payroll deduction agreement. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;So, it's counter-intuitive, but in this case, your payroll deductions are also called "employer contributions" by the &lt;B&gt;IRS&lt;/B&gt; (because your contributions and the employer's are both pre-tax and treated the same way).&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If you don't have a code W entry in box 12 and you expect one, &lt;B&gt;you need to ask your employer&lt;/B&gt; where the HSA contributions are listed. A few employers put them in box 14, but this causes problems for TurboTax because they can't be automatically found and handled there. &lt;BR /&gt;</description>
