      <description>&lt;P&gt;First, be sure to indicate that she lived with you all of 2016 (which is okay for newborns).&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Second, the $4,050 personal exemption you get for her is not a tax credit or a refund &amp;nbsp; Rather, it is a deduction (subtraction) from your income, before the tax is calculated. So you don't pay taxes on $4,050 of income.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
