      <description>&lt;P&gt;When you file as married filing joint you are not your spouse's dependent. Rather you will both get to use your personal exemptions to help reduce your gross income to a lower taxable income. If you have a TT account and your spouses does not then you can transfer your information over and just change your filing status to married. Also, it does not matter if you are filing joint whose name comes first. If your spouse also has a TT account, then you may want to use the account of the person who has more tax transactions going on in case they have carryover information to deal with.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
