Programs such as Turbo Tax are try and make it so the least amount of people are confused when filling out a section of the program. This is why when you get to the health insurance section it mentions Obamacare, healthcare.gov, 1095-A forms received, or another state's marketplace plan. The program is not trying to be misleading, if anything they are going overboard to make sure that you enter your information in the proper place. News reports have interviewed people on live television who have said "I hate Obamacare, but love the Affordable Care Act" not knowing its the same thing. Some people are unaware of that the insurance they get from the marketplace is part of the ACA. When filling out a return using self-prepared software, the programmers know that not everyone will know the official title of said tax law. The important thing is to help people get their information in the right place. Technically the proper name for the act is not the Affordable Care Act either, but rather "The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act." Many more people would be confused if the program said the "PPACA" or the Patient Protection ACA, or some other thing. In the end if calling including the term Obamacare among the "SEVERAL" other hints helps more people fill out their returns correctly, which is the whole point of the program, then this company did it right.
