Online software requires a fully separate account for each tax file and a full separate payment for each one when filed.

Thus, for the personal tax returns, it would be better to use the download version that installs on your computer (Deluxe or higher version...H&B offers more help for self employed people, but can be used for all except the estate tax filing). It will only come with one free state download, so you would have to buy any extra states needed if more than one state is required.... each "E-filed" state tax return will still require a $25 payment to e-file (except NY), even if "one" state software set is free.....but you don't have to pay for the full Federal set with each e-file like you do with the Online software.

You would need at least 2 versions of TurboTax.

TurboTax Home & Business (Desktop download/CD) will allow you to file up to 5 federal e-files, and unlimited paper files. It supports sole proprietor business reporting on Schedule C.

TurboTax Business is required to file an estate return; it also supports non-sole proprietor business returns (C-corp, S-corp, partnership) and prepares K-1 income forms to flow into the individual return if necessary.
