Now they pushed it back to 2/23/18! But, you can file on H and R Block software. Going to get that today. Done with TurboTax.

It is now available on IRS website, as of 2/23/18. Not sure when Turbotax will import it.

Does anyone know what is exactly needed to fill out form 8936? Do I need to find anything out about my vehicle so I can prepare to file this. It will be my first year claiming this credit

Form 8936, Qualified Plug-in Electric Drive Motor Vehicle Credit should be available in TurboTax on 02/12/2020. The IRS has to finalize the form and approve it for e-filing before the form is available on TurboTax.

Once the form is available, follow the steps to claim the credit:

Log in to your account.
Go to Federal Taxes.
Go to Deductions and Credits.
Scroll down to Cars and Other Things You Own and click show more.
Scroll down to Energy-Efficient Vehicles.
