You would look for a code that most closely fits your self-employment income (1099-MISC income) and enter that. If you can't find a code that fits, you can enter 999999.

Please click here and go to page 17 and 18. Find the category closest to your income and then look at the sub-categories.

Thank you for the reply. The Merchant Category Code is associated with processing credit card payments. I know the category I need to be in, I just don't know how to set enter mine. The help line does not no anything about a Category Code associated with my Merchant Services Account, or how to update it. We are a bed and breakfast and trying to process a payment from Booking.com, and it keeps getting denied/unable to process due to an invalid Category Code.

Ant suggestions would be appreciated.
