Go to the personal info section and erase and re-type your birth date.

Check everyone's birthday in your tax return. Erase, re-type.

This rejection occurs when the date of birth for the first person listed on the return is either incorrect or doesn't match IRS records. It is possible the IRS has made a mistake.

The code and message associated with this rejection varies with the tax form:

F1040-525-02: The date of birth you entered on your tax return does not match what the IRS has in its files for you.

If your date of birth has been entered correctly in TurboTax, then call the Social Security Administration at 1-800-772-1213 to verify that their records are correct. If SSA records are incorrect and have to be updated, it can take up to four weeks to transfer the updated information to the IRS. Wait four weeks, and then re-file the return. If you can't get it corrected, then you will have to file a paper return for this year.

If you have double checked all forms and personal information and everything is correct and they continue to rejected it, your next option will be to mail it. Here is a walk through on how to print and mail your return:

lisajuly's post should not be hidden. Could not correct birthdate on Filing page because it kept switching back to the incorrect birth date stored in the Personal Information section. Why are users not alerted there is mismatching information in order to correct the issue?

@Babbe9 If you verified that the information you entered into TurboTax exactly matches the Social Security card, and that the birth date is correct and has been entered in MM/DD/YYYY format, your next step is to Contact Social Security By Phone | SSA to verify that the SSA's records are correct. (The IRS gets their information from the SSA.) Correct SSA records will prevent the same rejection next year.

In the meantime, your best option is to file a paper return, as your return will continue to get rejected until the mismatch is fixed at the Social Security Administration. It can take about 4–6 weeks or longer.

This will be my 3rd year trying to file with turbo tax, and each time I get all the way through and it states the wrong birthday and gets rejected. I go to the personal info page and change it to the correct birth date and the website doesn't update it when I go and re file to fix it. On file, it say's you guys have the wrong birthday, not me. I have my social, birth certificate and ID. Also, when I go file else where, its correct on their end (so it's not the IRS) and I have reason to believe its on the turbo tax end. Can someone explain to me how to fix it?

I have exactly the same issue from previous years and one time we tried to use the tax agent and the e-filing went through with no rejection like in Turbotax, so not my DOB or record in IRS. This is obviously from Turbotax, hope Turbotax will do something to correct this bug from their app.

I don't understand why my tax return on here keeps getting rejected saying it's the wrong birthday but it is the correct birthday when I file with Jackson Hewitt every year my taxes go through perfectly fine with the same birthday so I don't understand what the problem is with TurboTax

It is not TT that is rejecting the return for the incorrect birthday it is the IRS. And they only look at the birth year, your SS# and the first 4 letters of your last name compared against the SS administration records. Please make sure all are correct and try again. Of course the ID records have been known to get corrupted ... you can contact the SS administration to see what they currently have on file.

What is the exact error code or message you are getting ?
