I am already paying for the Deluxe, then why am I paying an additional $44 for my state? Shouldn't that be included?

The cost of preparing state returns is in addition to the cost of preparing your Federal return since it is a separate form that is completed and filed.

In addition, state fees are not included by default since not all customers file state returns through TurboTax and some customers file multiple states.
