There is the TurboTax Free Edition.You can use TurboTax Free Edition for simple returns. You may have entered information that the Free Edition doesn’t cover, which available in the Deluxe version. You can downgrade to the Free Edition by clicking Clear and Start Over, which is located at the top of the home page under My Account. Keep in mind that if you enter sufficient itemized deductions to exceed your standard deduction, you'll be asked to upgrade to Deluxe again.

I have not yet started filing my 2022 taxes, but the VERY FIRST screen demands I select a plan, the cheapest of which is $199, and there is no button to skip
