      <description>&lt;P&gt;Note that we cannot see your return nor the screen you are on, but I am going to make a guess and say that you are wondering if you can enter the amount with code DD in box 12 on the W-2 as a deduction in some state.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If the state has a deduction for health insurance premiums (as some do), note that these deductions are normally for premiums paid with after-tax dollars.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The code DD amount is pre-tax, that is, it has been removed from Wages on your W-2 before it was printed. This is why you don't see a deduction on Schedule A for these premiums - they were never in your income in the first place.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;So in the cases I know of concerning code DD, you should not enter that amount in a state interview.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If this does not address your situation, then please make a new post here on AnswerXchange, this time giving the form you are talking about and the state (if one).&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;[Edited 3/26/2020 1:19 pm CDDT - typo]&lt;/P&gt;</description>
