What type of 1099? Is it a 1099-R, 1099-INT, 1099-DIV, 1...

What type of 1099? Is it a 1099-R, 1099-INT, 1099-DIV, 1099-B, 1099-MISC,etc.?

What is the problem you are encountering? I'll go ahead and take a guess.

Are you at a page with a bunch of logos and there is a financial institution search line, and it says to enter the name of your bank or financial institution? And are you trying to enter the name of your 1099 Payer there? That screen is only for importing from a TurboTax participating import partner. If you are not importing the 1099 (don't want to or can't), then don't enter anything there.

Instead, scroll down to the bottom right and click on a gray button "I'll type it in myself." That gray button may not be visible until you scroll down.

You'll come to a later screen where you can enter the Payer of your 1099. Even if the later screen says "bank or financial institution", you can use the Payer shown on your 1099.

If that's not your situation, then you need to please explain more.
