      <description>&lt;P&gt;If you only earned $500, then you could get a very tiny amount of earned income credit by claiming her -- less than $200.&amp;nbsp; You did not support a child on $500.&amp;nbsp; Did someone else actually support you and your child?&amp;nbsp; That person could likely claim both of you as dependents.&amp;nbsp; And if you ARE being claimed as someone else's dependent, you cannot claim a dependent of your own.&amp;nbsp; If someone else already claimed you or your child, that is why your own return is being rejected.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
