      <description>&lt;P&gt;Yes, if you file married filing separately then you are required to use the same deduction, therefore if you decide to use the Standard Deduction both need to use it. Or if you decide to use the Itemized Deduction both of you need to itemize.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
