the program downloaded to my drive with the name "Business 2018" but when I click on that I get a list of files, none of which seem to be the "start" button. How do I get started using the software?

It actually sounds as if the program is already installed on your computer (see first screenshot and note the names of the folders in the Business 2018 directory).

If you can manage to get into Windows Explorer and expand Program Files (x86), you should see the TurboTax directory. If you expand that, you should see Business 2018 and expanding that should reveal the three folders you mentioned. Open the 32bit folder, click (double-click) on TurboTax.exe and the program should open (see second screenshot).

It sounds like what you are looking at is the installer for TurboTax Business. Does the file have a ".exe" extension? Try double clicking the file; the installer should open a dialogue box and begin to install your software.

when i clicked on the single installation file, i got a installer.exe.config plus a couple of others, but when I click on the installer file, i get a question from windows about which app I want to use to open the file (e.g. internet explorer). Is that what i want to use?

the file placed on my c: drive is just "business 2018," which when clicked on breaks into 3 folders ("32 bit", "forms," and "installer" plus a bunch of files with ".key" extensions and others but nothing like what you typed. I'm hoping I can speak to someone on the phone about this because I'm thoroughly confused.
