on the 1099 b form it says 14.445576 shares sold but turbo tax says invalid number

Try to enter 14.45 or 14 shares. That has too many digits...

Try to enter 14.45 or 14 shares. That has too many digits for the IRS to proces. The IRS receives the same form (and information) and they'd prefer you round the numbers anyway.
