When you enter your 1095-A, you indicate that you 'shared' the policy. Enter the Social Security Number of the person who is not on your tax return.

If there are three of you on the Policy, you could use an Allocation of 66% on your return, for example.

When that child files their own return, they indicate also that they 'shared' a policy (with your SSN) and that their Allocation is 33%. The Allocations can be split any way, as long as they total 100%.

Here's some info to help you:

My son was shared with me on the ACA. I am no longer able to claim him as a dependent on my taxes. I have typed in his SSN and then allocated 50 Premium Percentage, 50 SLCSP Percentage, and 50 Advance Payment of the PCT Percentage... It keeps saying I have 6 errors after correction, what am I doing wrong?
