I'm planning on paying little by little before the deadline since I owe 334 in state taxes. Also with federal it said got approved 1500 only getting 1166 back why's that

It is possible that the state taxes you owe can be taken from your federal refund. 1500-1166=334, which is the exact amount you say you owe to the state.
