      <description>&lt;P&gt;If your wife receives Social Security disability benefits (Form SSA-1099), you'll need to report these benefits on your tax return.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Note: It is generally better for a married couple to file a joint tax return, and that is particularly true for Social Security benefits. On a joint tax return, Social Security benefits may be partly taxable, depending on the other income on the return.
