Printing Instructions Missing

Hi,

I've been trying for over a week and a half to get someone to resolve my issue. My forms for some reason aren't able to E-file and I have to physically file. The PDF when I download my return does not have any of the printing instructions on what to put in each file (I have 1 federal and 2 state returns) or where to mail it etc that I'm paying money for. I keep getting told to clear my cache and things that are useless and have not helped or changed the PDF output. I need someone to help or give me refund so I can go use another service as TurboTax has not actually done what I paid for.

Are you using desktop or TurboTax Online? Have you tried printing (or saving as a PDF) the entire return, including worksheets? If you are using TurboTax Online and have already filed, you will need to click on Add a State to get back into the Print Center (located in the Tools menu). Printing from the Print Center should get you the instructions page you are looking for, it should be the first page on the list, actually. You can choose to print just the instruction page if you prefer.

TurboTax online and yes, I've printed them with all the government and TurboTax sheets included and there are no mailing instructions included in my PDF

Hi. It looks like my reply got deleted. But no, I'm using online. I've done that and clicked "Include government and TurboTax worksheets (optional)" and "Include government worksheets (optional)" and "Just my tax return(s)" (which are the only options) and it never includes filing instructions.

Do you see the Filing Instructions page at the top of the forms list? Have you tried just printing that specific page?

What state(s) are you filing a return for? Your federal tax return goes to a different location depending on the state that you live in.  See this list to determine the location for you.  Where to File Paper Tax Returns (irs.gov)

Once I select one of those, the only other button on the screen is to print. No additional box shows up. When I print that, the first page is my 1040 on every single option and I've scrolled through all 40 pages and no such filing instructions are included. I'm also filing for New York and Delaware

There has been an issue with Filing Instructions are Not Printing, but it's been resolved; hence the instructions to close TurboTax, clear your Cache and Cookies and retry. It's interesting that you don't see the link to 'Save as PDF' as shown in the screenshot above.

It's also concerning that you can't Efile. Does the program tell you which forms you can't Efile? Here's a link to check for Federal Tax Form Availability and State Form Availability.

It makes me wonder whether there is some kind of anti-virus software blocking you.

Since we can't see your return in this forum, or know your computer/system configuration, you should Contact TurboTax Support. The techs can actually get into your computer to diagnose what's happening.

I've already cleared my cache and cookies and it has not fixed the problems

I am still having this issue too.

1. I already cleared my cache

2. Try the Print Center and Options does not show me per page, hence there is no instruction page option.

3. Tried viewing and saving as pdf, no instructions is included.

Apparently the only solution is to get onto Facebook messaging with TurboTax and message them until they escalate it and then they will manually send you where to mail your returns and send you your printing instructions

Dawn, this does not work. I am having the same issue. Using Safari and a Mac. Even tried clearing my cache. I (as well as others) do not get the page with the ability to print specific pages from the print center. I only get the ability to print the entirety of my actual returns (with or without worksheets).

I'm having same issue with no instruction page. I've deleted history, cleared cache, etc. and resigned in. Same issue. Where do i get the filing instructions? Obviously many are having this issue.

Did you get a solution for this? Everyone seems to be having the same issue missing the instruction page. I'm getting beyond frustrated and cant seem to find a solution to this. I dk what I need to include with the return or the addresses to send it to. I can't find anywhere to reach customer service.

This is a know problem with the missing Filing Instructions page. It is being worked on but a date when this will be corrected is not yet available.

Go to this IRS website for the federal tax return mailing address, by state, with and without a tax payment. - https://www.irs.gov/filing/where-to-file-paper-tax-returns-with-or-without-a-payment

You have to sign and date the federal tax return, Form 1040, on page 2. If you are married and filing Jointly your spouse also has to sign and date the form.

Include with the mailed tax return all forms W-2 and 1099 which have taxes withheld.

Also, include with the tax return all other forms and schedules which have an Attachment Sequence Number located in the upper right corner of the form or schedule. All other pages are for your use only.

Appreciate this response but just to be clear, we all have unique tax circumstances that may require additional pieces required to be mailed elsewhere and you're not looking at each circumstance to provide guidance but blindly giving guidance. That's why us getting our filing instructions that are tailored to our specific tax return are so important and what we're paying for. I had someone from TurboTax go into the backend system but these kinds of responses are dangerous and also not informed. Quite frankly shocked that TurboTax hasn't fixed this problem yet. Based on this blanket guidance, I would've filed incorrectly. To other people dealing with this issue, either go somewhere other than TurboTax or make someone individually review your case and tell you which pages to send where and review all of your forms and what support you need to provide along with each form.

Are you using TurboTax Desktop or Online? This was a problem but was corrected in a recent update.

You may need to do a manual update.

What is a manual update?

You can try these steps to resolve if you are using the online version:

Clearing your Cache and Cookies
Using a different browser
Opening an Incognito Window

Federal returns can be mailed to the address for your state using the IRS link below. Mail all forms and schedules, do not include any worksheets. Your return should print out in the correct order. Each form after the 1040 has a unique sequence number in the corner which is used to put the pages in order.

Where to Mail Returns With or Without Payment

For state returns, you need to check your State Department of Revenue website to get the address you will need to mail your state return.
