I made contributions to my HSA when I should not have. My wife contributed to a Family plan and I did single. I just filed to remove all the contributions for 2025 this week so I am before the tax deadline. BUT I took out more money than the excess not catching that my wife did not contribute the full 8500. So I have removed about 1000 more than what the calculated excess is. How do I account for that extra 1000 or so dollars?

-Ben
