Cannot install turbotax

After multiple downloads of macOS version of Home and Business, I can click on the download .dmg file, which then opens the installer, and copy the program to my applications folder. When I click on the icon, MacOs asks if I want to open the program, and I click yes. The program is verified and starts to open, but the Icon just bounces up and down in my dock for about ten seconds, and then disappears. The end result is that I am unable to open turbotax, and even put in my activation code. I'm running MacOS 26.3.1(a).

This is the most consistently successful fix reported by users.

Delete TurboTax from Applications
Empty the Trash
Re‑download the installer
Install again from the .dmg
Launch only from Applications

Several users report that reinstalling allows TurboTax to complete its update and then open normally
