When you enter the employer EIN in the W-2 interview, it will tell you if it's available for import and start the import process. There are 2 important factors, however. First of all, your employer has to be a participating partner in that W-2 importing process, AND the employer has to have it ready for importing. An employer has until January 31 to provide a W-2. Even when importing, it often asks for information from the actual W-2 to verify your identity, etc. Also see this FAQ:

  https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1934390-how-do-i-import-or-enter-my-w-2

Did you already file, or is your return still in preparation? Usually TurboTax Support says that continuing with the payment of Online TurboTax fees indicates acceptance of the product terms. I don't work for TurboTax, so you'd need to discuss any fee issues directly with TurboTax Support. They will open in 40 minutes.

FAQ: What is the TurboTax phone number?

https://ttlc.intuit.com/replies/3300041
