    <description>&lt;P&gt;I downloaded and installed Desktop TT Premier 2025 on an external hard drive. I have done this before without a problem on all previous versions of TT. The install location is "E:\TurboTax\Premier 2025".&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;On starting up, I get the "Error 214" (Some forms are missing ... etc.). I have tried many of the corrective steps suggested in this forum, including repairing the VC++ redistributable, running as administrator, disabling virus scanning and firewalls. None of these worked.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;When I try to uninstall, I get the error "The folder path 'Premier 2025' contains an invalid character". So now I can neither run it nor uninstall it. There are no invalid characters in the path and I have successfully used this method on all previous of TT in earlier years.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Please help!!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Lets start with the uninstal issue.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;OL&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Shut down &lt;/STRONG&gt;TurboTax and all other programs&lt;/LI&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;Delete the &lt;STRONG&gt;Installation Folder:&amp;nbsp;&lt;/STRONG&gt;
  &lt;OL&gt;
   &lt;LI&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Open File Explorer,&amp;nbsp;&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;
   &lt;LI&gt;Navigate to the location where it was installed (e.g., E:\TurboTax\)&lt;/LI&gt;
   &lt;LI&gt;Delete the Premier 2025 folder.&lt;/LI&gt;
  &lt;/OL&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;Remove the &lt;STRONG&gt;Program's Data Files:&lt;/STRONG&gt;
  &lt;OL&gt;
   &lt;LI&gt;Open File Explorer.
    &lt;UL&gt;
     &lt;LI&gt;Select the &lt;STRONG&gt;View&lt;/STRONG&gt; menu and check &lt;STRONG&gt;Hidden items&lt;/STRONG&gt;.&lt;/LI&gt;
     &lt;LI&gt;Go to C:\ProgramData\Intuit\TurboTax\ and&amp;nbsp;&lt;/LI&gt;
     &lt;LI&gt;Delete the folder associated with the 2025 version.&lt;/LI&gt;
    &lt;/UL&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;
  &lt;/OL&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Reboot&lt;/STRONG&gt; your computer.&lt;/LI&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Reinstall &lt;/STRONG&gt;the software again after restarting.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;/OL&gt;

I tried deleting all the items you mentioned but still kept getting the same error "Invalid characters in path 'Premier 2025'&amp;nbsp; when retrying the install. I also ran a search on the entire file system for 'Premier 2025' and deleted all the files containing that reference, but the problem persisted. Then I deleted all of the registry keys associated with Intuit products including TT, also all folders in the file system associated with Intuit. Again, I kept getting the same error on re-running the install. This thing was like a zombie in a horror movie that just keeps coming at you! I have no idea where that pathname was stored.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Finally, the only thing that worked was a complete reinstall of Windows 11, wiping all applications and settings. Actually, in my case, a "PC reset" using the factory reset feature on my HP laptop. Luckily, I had just purchased this laptop specifically to get my taxes done, so nothing was lost (except the evil TT zombie - mmwwwhahahaha).&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Following the "PC reset", I did successfully re-download and re-install TT2025, this time making sure to use only the default install location to avoid tempting fate yet again.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thank you again for responding to my cry for help!&lt;/P&gt;</description>
