    <description>&lt;P&gt;THANK YOU! This worked! Here is exactly what I did to e-file two California 541 returns that had returned Code 54. Directions from ChatGPT&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Step-by-step: Enable .NET Framework 3.5&lt;BR /&gt;1. Open Windows Features&lt;BR /&gt;Click Start&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Type: Windows Features&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Click: “Turn Windows features on or off”&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;2. Find the .NET Framework entry&lt;BR /&gt;In the list, look for:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;“.NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0)”&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;span class="lia-unicode-emoji" title=":backhand_index_pointing_right:"&gt;👉&lt;/span&gt; This is the key one&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;3. Enable it&lt;BR /&gt;If the box is unchecked → check it&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If it’s a filled square (partially enabled) → click it until it becomes a full checkmark&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Then click OK&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;4. Selected "Mail in Return" (vs. e-File) and saved the return, closed TurboTax. (Supposedly this clears out any strange errors from attempting to previously e-file&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;E. Ran TurboTax Business as administrator&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;F. Selected one of my two 541 returns, e-filed and got SUCCESS!!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;G. Opened the other 541 return. repeated from step C.       <description>&lt;P&gt;The problem still exists as of March 14. I installed and re-installed, turned off anti-virus, uninstalled and reinstalled state, detached and reattached form 8453, no luck e-filing Federal and California State 1041s. Finally, at suggestion of Gemini AI, I e-filed only Federal. This worked. I waited until Federal returns were accepted (overnight even!) and still CA 1041 e-file returns error code 54. It is March 14. Intuit needs to fix this problem!&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;March 15.&amp;nbsp; I was also able to get the Fed to file, but the California return is still unable to file electronically.&amp;nbsp; There is no excuse for this kind of problem, yet I seem to find things every year that require work-arounds.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;a href="https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/5387312"&gt;@LeticiaF1&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;postal mailing the return is not a solution to a software problem that Intuit has not fixed. I paid $25 to Intuit to e-File my returns and I expect the software to work. I have tried every possible troubleshooting listed on Intuit Community forums: uninstalling and re-installing TurboTax Business, clearing Browswer cache (Chrome and Edge), doing disk-cleanup to remove any strange files, uninstalling and reinstalling California State Turbo Tax, turning off Anti-Virus SW, restarting computer, downloading and running Intuit's super patch for TurboTax Business. Confirming the date and time on my computer are correct. I have tried everything except holding my breath while hopping on one foot and hitting transmit now.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT color="#FF0000"&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Clearly Intuit still has a problem to fix.&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
