Enabling Property - Form 5695

I am working on the Home Energy Credit interview questions, and the below "Did you install..." question appears. I selected "No" because i did not install improvements or replacements for enabling property. Nevertheless, the next interview question requires (see second screenshot) me to enter information about improvements or replacements for enabling property that I did not make. This appears to be a coding error as I can't be required to input information about improvements/replacements for enabling property that I already indicated I didn't make.

When will this be fixed?

Our TurboTax team has identified the issue and is working on a resolution.

Why am I getting address errors for my Home Energy credit when the address has already been added and is correct?

My question ("When will this be fixed?") was not answered. And the link posted by TurboTax does not work. So the response was entirely unhelpful.

There was an update to this last Friday.

If you are using desktop software you may need to do a manual update. Try clearing your Cache and Cookies and then try this link instructions.

If you are using the online software, Clear Cache and Cookies.

Not all instances have been resolved for form 5695. If you are claiming a credit for an external door, you will need to wait until March 13 and try filing again.

The update did NOT fix this issue. I've cleared my cache and cookies, and I'm still experiencing the same bug as before--I'm being asked to select "at least one" enabling property, even though I've already indicated I did not install an enabling property.

My original question remains unanswered: When will this issue be fixed? I'm tired of waiting endlessly for the software to work.

I'm assuming you must have an external door. Did you see this in my reply? Not all instances have been resolved for form 5695. If you are claiming a credit for an external door, you will need to wait until March 13 and try filing again.

Yes, I saw your comment about the external door, but that does not apply to me as I didn't install an external door.

Do you need the form at all? Do you just need to delete the form all together?

If you are sure you don't need this form, you can delete it.

If you are using:

TurboTax Online: see How do I view and delete forms in TurboTax Online?
TurboTax Desktop:
1. On the top right, there is a FORMS button.
2. Click on FORMS.
3. Locate the form you want to delete.
4. Click on the form name.
5. Below the form, bottom left, select DELETE FORM button.

Always use extreme caution when deleting information from your tax return.  There could be unintended consequences.

I absolutely need the form, but as I've said repeatedly, it's not working correctly. (Scroll up to see the error, which is still there.)

I've cleared cache and cookies, and I've deleted the form and reentered the information. And it's not working. This is a coding issue that has not been fixed.

Biomass stove and battery storage.

Battery storage section is complete and working fine.

The biomass stove section information is entered, but follow-up interview questions for this section have a bug. Today is March 13, and this issue STILL HAS NOT BEEN FIXED.

You can try these things to make sure the updates are applied and it is not using old session information:

Log Out Completely: Before doing anything else, click Sign Out in the TurboTax menu.
Clear Cache and Cookies: This removes old, "corrupted" data that might be confusing the website.
Use an Incognito (Private) Window: This is the most effective "quick fix" because it launches the browser without any saved history or extensions (like AdBlockers) that often interfere with tax forms.
Check Pop-up Blockers: TurboTax often opens forms (like the 1099 PDF) or payment windows in a separate pop-up. Look at the right side of your address bar for a small icon with a "red X"—click it and select "Always allow pop-ups from Intuit."
Restart the Browser: Close all open windows of your browser entirely and then reopen it.

Most TurboTax errors happen because the browser is trying to use an old "session" from a previous visit. By clearing the cache or using Incognito mode, you force the browser to establish a brand-new, secure connection with the Intuit servers.
