How to check for an offset:

I can perhaps solve part of the mystery, i.e., why MVB can become involved. MVB is the bank that is used by Credit Karma (an Intuit company) to handle refunds in certain circumstances. Here are some circumstances in which one's refund may go through/to MVB Bank. Did you use any of these?

It can be used if one chose to have their refund deposited to a Credit Karma MoneySpend account.
It can be used if one used the Refund Advance offer, which requires a Credit Karma checking account be opened or use an existing one.
It can be used if one chose the "Up to 5 days early offer" (the version with no fee), which requires a Credit Karma MoneySpend account be opened.

Unfortunately, you won't be able to resolve anything account-specific in a user community forum. You'll need to phone TurboTax Support to ask them how MVB (Credit Karma's bank) became involved and how you ended up with an account there. I left contact info above.

Also ask them what should happen next, or if you need to actively withdraw it from MVB. While you have them on the phone, also ask them how to contact the relevant department at MVB in case you need it.
