Step through the File Section again. You can indicate that you don't want to Efile the Federal return (if it has already been filed) and indicate you want to Efile the New York return (look for radio buttons).

If he wants to Efile both returns, make sure Efile is selected in both spots.

I was able to get on a computer to efile but I may have resubmitted the federal which he has already received payment so hopefully they’ll either disregard or sent a later ? Thank you Marilyn G1

If you accidently Efiled a Federal return that was previously Efiled, the efile should be Rejected, with an error message that a return has already been filed with that SSN. You'll receive an email from TurboTax, whether Accepted or Rejected, about 48 hours after filing.
