      <description>&lt;P&gt;Yes. &amp;nbsp;TurboTax will ask you about that when you enter your 1099-R. &amp;nbsp;Eligible retired public safety officers can &lt;STRONG&gt;exclude up to &lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;I&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;$3,000&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/I&gt; from their taxable income each year for health insurance premiums. &amp;nbsp;To be eligible:&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;You must be a &lt;STRONG&gt;retired public safety officer&lt;/STRONG&gt;, which the IRS defines to include:&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;UL&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;Law enforcement officers,&lt;/LI&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;Firefighters,&lt;/LI&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;Chaplains for these departments,&lt;/LI&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;Members of rescue squads or ambulance crews.&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;/UL&gt;
&lt;P&gt;You must have retired &lt;STRONG&gt;due to age/normal retirement or disability&lt;/STRONG&gt;. &amp;nbsp; The exclusion applies to premiums paid for yourself, your spouse, or your dependents.&lt;/P&gt;
