For Column B of Form 1095-A, you are asked to enter the second lowest cost Silver plan (SLCSP) premium amounts. To find the second lowest cost Silver plan premium amounts for you, use this tool at Healthcare.gov. The software won't accept zeroes in Column B.

I was able to discover how to see 2025 using the tax tool, and entered that amount, which then generated a credit on my return, which was incorrect, as I had an ICHRA. I've found other threads with this question, but no resolutions using the online software. I guess I'll have to not use Turbo Tax to file this year, and find something else.

Hello MonikaK1 - The question is not where to get the silver info. The question is where do we tell TurboTax that we have an ICHRA through our employer so that TurboTax doesn't automatically apply the premium tax credit? Or, where/how can we modify the forms so that we don't receive the premium tax credit??

You cannot tell TurboTax that you have ICHRA through your employer, this is a situation that TurboTax does not support. In order to make changes, you would need to go back to the 1095-A entries and chance column B to $0. This will make any Premium Tax Credit you received repayable. You will then need to print and mail your return with a statement attached to form 8962 stating that you were not eligible for the Premium Tax Credit. There is not a spot on form 8962 to indicate that you are not eligible for the PTC.

If you did not receive the premium tax credit, you may still need to print and mail the return with the statement due to the fact that the IRS has no way to no that you are not eligible due to reasons that are not based on income. So if you would send in your form electronically, it is possible the IRS would make an adjustment, without the statement, to correct your return and refund you the PTC.

Thank you, Vanessa, for the reply.

You said the software does not support situations where someone has an ICHRA or other HRA. When I used the AI support chat it kept telling me to do things that were not possible to do - including where to go in the interview process to indicate I had and ICHRA. Is this a bug in the software that is being worked on and a fix will be released in the next day or two?
