My broker provided me with a consolidated 1099-B .pdf that showed Section 199A dividends of $100 "on paper." Yet, when I downloaded the broker's 1099-B file and imported the data into TurboTax Deluxe 2025 the 199A dividends were missing; the field was blank. The twist is the broker's download delivered a small second file that I discovered was the correct data for my 1099-DIV. The second file included the 199A dividends. The problem is if I imported both files to show the 199A dividends my other dividend totals, i.e., ordinary and qualified, were DOUBLED. I decided to skip importing the second file and used forms view to manually add in the 199A dividends. WAS TURBOTAX SUPPOSED TO SPOT THE DUPLICATE 1099-DIV DATA AND FLAG IT FOR ME TO REVIEW/CORRECT or WAS THIS JUST A PROBLEM CREATED BY MY BROKER SENDING 2 FILES?

That was a problem caused by the broker sending two files. There should only be one file. Downloads of tax documents from financial institutions are not always complete and accurate and should always be checked against the actual document to verify the information. TurboTax can't control what information the financial institution provides for a download.
