<title>topic Loop in Purchase State in Get your taxes done using TurboTax</title>
    <link>https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/taxes/discussion/loop-in-purchase-state/01/3781240#M1405658</link>
    <description>Mac OS: Tahoe 26.2
TTax Desktop Version: 2025.r20.027

When I attempt to start Illinois state taxes (already installed), TTax wants me to either 'Purchase State' or 'Done With State'.

If I attempt to Purchase State, it says "Illinois is installed. You do not need to download this state". Entering 'Cancel' in turn drops my current session, and I have to reload via 'Open a different return'

If I select 'Done with States', it takes me to to the Review tab, which takes me to 'ready to file'.

I haven't even yet start the state taxes, although the Forms mode shows some partial Illinois forms.

How do I get out of this loop so I can actually start working on my state taxes?</description>
