Does anyone know where Box A and B are located on the 1099?

Hi,

Turbotax is asking for the following:

Short-term- Box A

Short-term - Box B

It is asking for the Sales Proceeds and Cost Basis on these forms but I cannot see them. The rest of the missing pages is just the stocks sold and bought that totals up to these numbers. I have multiple 1099 from different brokers. I just cant locate them on this form for example.

(A) Short-term transactions reported on Form(s) 1099-B showing basis was reported to the IRS (see Note above)

(B) Short-term transactions reported on Form(s) 1099-B showing basis was not reported to the IRS

this may also be worded A is "covered" and B is "non-covered" as referred to in your summary screenshot. The detailed sections may have this wording in the headings also.

Yes. The section of the Form 1099 Composite that you are highlighting shows the total short-term sales. The covered are Box A (basis reported to IRS) and the noncovered are Box B (basis not reported to IRS).
