TurboTax Online does not let me edit a return that is not yet filed

I tried to post this question awhile ago, but I did not see it in the forum.

I filled in most of my return using TurboTax Online. At the end I selected "mail" as the filing option, but also "Not ready to file" so that I could print it. I printed it and then changed the filing method to "electronic". However, I still kept the "Not ready to file" selected thinking I could change anything. It will not let me edit anything now, but I need to change a pension entry. I have not filed it yet, I just need it "unlocked" so I can edit it and file it electronically.

This should not have to be an amended return. It hasn't been filed! How do I unlock it?

Try clicking Add a State. You do not really have to add a state return but that trick will let you back in to the return so that you can make changes before you file the return.

Thanks - I do not see anywhere to add a state. I tried to add a Tax Document and it let me do it (nothing I didn't already have), but said it's not going to add it to the return. In Tax Home all I get is the "you're all done" and "ready to mail" status, with an option to download.

There doesn't seem to be anyplace else to add a state.

Thank you, what finally worked was your initial suggestion to "Add a State". Not sure why I didn't see it, but the TTax rep helped me find it and even now (after e-filing the Federal only), I see it at the very bottom of the Tax Home page - if you maximize the "Your tax returns & documents".

She mentioned that if you print your returns, whether you said you're done or not, TTax thinks it's done and won't let you edit anymore. So the problem was that I had printed my return but not yet filed it.
