My state refund keeps getting rejected for error code R0148. I don't see the page they are directing me to, so where do I find the "declaration to e-file your state"???

I have sent them back 3x and they just keep getting rejected. It never takes me to a page labeled as the "declaration to e-file your state".

If you are getting Reject code R0148 from the State of New York, this is the reason and how to fix it:

You have a missing primary or spouse signature checkbox on the New York E-file Declaration statement.

Revisit the File tab,
click on Revisit to file,
click Continue until you reach the "Declaration to E-file Your State" screen.
Be sure you check the Taxpayer box (and Spouse box if applicable),
the re-file your return.
If you keep getting this reject, you will need to physically print, sign and mail in your return.

This has been corrected and you need to resubmit your return. If you submitted it yesterday, it will likely reject but if you resubmit today or after, you should have success.

Got rejected twice for this issues as of 02/05/2026 at 5:34PM this has not been fix. and is very frustrating never using turbotax again way overprice and way too much problems.

I have tried that and it never fixes the issue. Why should we have to pay a lot money to be able to file to ed up having to paper file? Will everyone be refunded for not be able to file Ny state? I see this is a common problem will it be fixed soon? Will the customers be compensated for the issues experienced?

As of 7:00am today, Saturday February 7th, 2026, I followed all of the instructions outlined above & the "Declaration to E-File Your State" screen never once appeared as I followed the instructions. The Fix My Return button claims it resolved the issue & I proceeded on to Refile my return. I am now at the Transmit My Return screen and I never saw a spot where I would check the box required to resolve this issue. I am going to submit it now, for the 4th time, with the hopes that this has been fixed per several other posts I have seen on this forum.
