In 2025, I installed a Heat Pump which qualifies for the tax credit. The overall price I paid included the cost of the Home Energy Audit and the written report was given to me. If I answer "Yes" to the question ("Did you pay for a home energy audit of your main U.S. home and receive a written report from a certified auditor?), what do I enter in the next section for the cost of the audit? I don't have a separate cost for this since it was rolled into the overall cost for the unit. The program won't let me enter $0, so now what?

You must contact the installer and request an itemized or separate invoice for the Energy Audit in order to claim the Energy Credit. This is very inconvenient but necessary.
