Form 8283

I filed for 2025 and the return was rejected because Form 8283 was needed but missing. I was told that 8283 would be available for January 31, 2026 forward. It isn't, but I can't get an answer about when it really will be available.

A bunch of folks have the same problem...it's being looked at by at lest one TTX rep.

But with ItsDeductible gone, it appears TTX has done a major rewrite of this section, and messed it up badly.

Thus, check every Friday after the normal weekly update to see if it's fixed.

BUT

I suspect it may take 2 or 3.......... ?? more weeks for them to get it properly operational....but that's just me wildly guessing.

OK!!!!, this morning's update (1 February) "seems" to have fixed it....(at least for the desktop software) And a weekend update is unusual.

BUT

You may have to go thru the entries again if you haven't entered addresses yet for certain charities.

But look closely, I have no idea if it covers all of your situation.

Problem solved as far as I can tell. The form 8283 was there. I had already entered addresses previously. I was able to resubmit after confirming some information. Fingers crossed!!
